Our humble beginnings
The SIGN & PRINT Shop was formed in 2015 by my wife and I. Soon after completing a 2 year apprenticeship I began my creative journey making custom signs in 1995. Fabricating and painting custom hand made signs brings great joy and a sense of purpose. Naturally progressing to the next level, in 2007 we added computer cut vinyl into the mix along with digital and commercial printing and dove full time into the sign business, and never looked back! Keeping up with the times and working to fulfill customer needs, we introduced wide format into our in-house capabilities in 2015 servicing artists, architects, builders, designers, photographers and retailers in their wide format print needs.
We worked from a central location in Pittsboro, NC until closing the office in 2021 and moving the business into our home studio and workshop.
what we use...
In-House Equipment
Our technical prints are all produced on an Epson Sure Color T5200 with a 36″ wide capacity, and prints 4 color. This printer also uses archival quality UV resistant water-based inks and prints all of our blueprint work and business graphics with fine detail. It also has the ability to print with high resolution photo quality as well!
All of our art and photo work is done on our 44″ Canon image-PROGRAPH Pro 4000s. This is a six color large format printer and handles all of the giclee and other professional quality work. Inks are UV resistant and archival quality. The 4000s is capable of printing many types of artist media in roll or cut sheet up to 44 inches wide with stunning results.
Placing Orders
Placing an order is quite simple – just send us an email detailing your project or refer to the Services page. We need to see exactly what it is that we’ll be printing and how you wish to use or display the print, so send us a copy of your artwork too, or other files that need to be printed. If it’s something you’ve had printed before, let us know your preferred type of media to use – if you’re unsure refer to our media page for guidance in what we have in stock and ready or available options. Include the total quantity to be printed and whether or not it will be used indoors or out. Don’t forget to include your expected in hand date for the finished product. Once we have this information, we can provide a detailed estimate of costs and turnaround times. Unfortunately we can no longer provide same day service so depending on the type and scope of the job, turnaround times for most in-house jobs are between 3 to 5 days from receipt of payment, however, some short quantity and single prints can be fit in for faster turnaround.
Upon acceptance of our estimate an invoice for online payment will be issued. Once payment is received, we will set up your file according to the project specifications and send you a digital online proof for verification – once approved, we go to production.
Terms and Payment processing
Although our quality is comparable to anything you’ll find online, we are a local small business and not a multi-million dollar global print monster with unlimited resources and online design-it-yourself features with instant order processing. Therefore we must maintain minimum payment and deposit policies in order to stay operational and require a minimum purchase amount based on the media and process chosen with advance payment policy for all online orders. We accept all major credit cards.
Intellectual Property & Copyright
By law we can only print works that have written consent from the property owner. You are responsible in obtaining ALL permissions from intellectual property owners with respect to the files you are sending to us and must provide a written copy of the permission statement. By submitting files and ordering prints, you are stating that you are the legal property owner, or that you have verifiable written permission to have copies made. It is your responsibility and you will be held accountable.
Local Pick Up & Delivery
All local orders are scheduled as “WILL CALL” customer pick up at our studio by appointment Monday thru Thursday between 9am and 6pm. Fridays from 9am to 2pm. No weekends or Holidays please.

**Free local delivery services for orders $250 or more excluding delivery and taxes. LOCAL = 22 miles round trip
Delivery fees for small signs under 6 SQFT and Print Orders $27.82 + $1.50 Per mile over 22 miles round trip • Larger signs $38.52 + $1.50 Per mile over 22 miles round trip.
Shipping
We use USPS – UPS and Fed Ex for print orders requiring shipping and apply a minimum $25 to your order. Estimates provided for large orders.
Crating and Shipping rates for signs will be by custom quote based on size and weight and provided during the estimating process.
